If you are travelling around in a campervan, there is a chance that you want to see and do as much as you can without having to spend too much money.
The Gold Coast is the perfect playground to enjoy several activities. As long as you’re willing to shop for a few items cheaply, you can really have some enjoyable times in some free spots or locations along the Gold Coast.
The activities that you’re likely to do whilst visiting the Gold Coast include:
- Gold Coast Hinterland
- Shopping centres
- Walks and hikes
- Picnics and barbecues
These suggestions only scratch the surface. However, you can set yourself up to have a fun time with the people that you are travelling with.
There’s so many beaches that stretch for kilometres along the Gold Coast. The most popular spots are Surfers Paradise and Main Beach. But you can easily visit less crowded beaches at The Spit, Runaway Bay, Broadbeach, Miami Beach, Burleigh Heads and Cooloongatta.
Find a free parking spot and bring enough food for the day to enjoy a picnic or cook up a barbecue on one of the stoves by the beach.
You’re definitely likely to go for a swim. Otherwise, carry some of the following items to make your day more enjoyable.
- Cricket set for beach cricket
- A set of cards or Dominoes
- A stereo to play music
- Bodyboard, SUP, or surfboard
Visit the Gold Coast Hinterland
There are several places in the Hinterland that offer great photo opportunities, hiking trails, and swimming holes. Head up to Mt Tambourine for the day. Or even head out to Springbrook and enjoy the majestic waterfalls.
There are a few options that you can consider. Cavill Avenue in Surfers Paradise has nightspots where you can play listen to music or go clubbing. There are dining spots around as well.
Alternatively, you could hang at any of the big shopping centres Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, or Harbour Town.
