If authentic travel experiences is something that you truly desire, then exploring travel destinations in a camper is one of the ideal solutions to consider.
You can keep your items in your vehicle and then travel, park, and explore the destination that you want to visit.
You do have the opportunity to save on travel costs when travelling in a campervan. However, it depends on the locations and the local laws that you need to abide by.
Living in a camper can have its challenges. So there are few things that you should consider to make sure that you will be content with the experience.
Whether you decide to travel alone, with a companion, or with a group of people, you will be confined to a small living space that will be much smaller than any bedroom.
With that space, you will need to sleep, enjoy your leisure, cook, and possibly use your restroom or bathroom facilities depending on the type of vehicle that you use.
If the vehicle doesn’t have a bathroom, you will need to get used to using external facilities.
You need to plan ahead.
Living in a camper does give you a degree of freedom. But you still need to organize how your trip will be planned. This will help you have bathroom breaks, plan camping site locations, and where you should visit.
Prepare for rainy or wet days.
When it rains, you will be confined to your camper or you will need to find a location where you can be protected from the rain.
If you are remote and you are in say a small 2 person camper, you will be confied in that tiny space until you can go outside. The rain may be short. But if it goes on for a while, you may find yourself camped inside for days.
You need to get used to the heat and air inside the camper.
This may or may not be pleasant depending on the weather conditions and the HVAC system that is inside your camper. In winter or in cold areas, the camper can get very cold and you will need to carry blankets, hot water bottles, and anything else to help you keep warm.
On the flipside, when it is hot and humid, it will be difficult to keep cool especially if your camper is under the hot sun.
